What I ate in Barcelona THIS TIME

OK gotta do a lot from memory here.  Didn't really take any photos of food this time around, though.  See my Facebook album for the rest of my photos from the trip!

Tapas at Sagardi:
  • Had like 8 of them, all unique and delicious. Cheese, crab, ham, asparagus, anchovies, etc., etc.
  • Let's say Estrella Damm?  Can't remember

Breakfasts at NH La Maquinsta (my hotel):
  • Fruit fruit and more fruit
  • Mini ham sandwich
  • Chocolate croissant
  • Cafe con leche
  • Fresh squeezed orange juice
  • Yogurt
Dinner at Senyor Parellada
  • Cava
  • Olives (on all the tables)
  • Bread with tomatoes (don't remember the name, but basically a Spanish twist on bruschetta)
  • Mussels
  • Some of my coworker's cod fritters
  • Stewed oxtail with mushrooms (freaking amazing!)
  • Churros with chocolate (xurros amb xocolat in Catalan)
  • Oh, and the sparkling water we had at every restaurant was Vichy Catalan, very nice!
Dinner at Sagardi:
  • Cava
  • Don't know the name, but it was peppers and anchovies with some kind of amazing olive oil and i think vinegar
  • Grilled chorizo (the best I've had so far)
  • Tempranillo
  • T-bone steak cooked very rare (per the chefs recommendation; this was shared amongst 4 people)
  • Grilled monkfish with extremely tasty seasoning
  • Chocolate, vanilla, and local apple gelato selection
Lunch at Paella to Go within the tradeshow venue:
  • Vegetarian paella (they ran out of seafood & meat!)
Tapas somewhere in Plaça Catalunya:
  • Chorizo tapa
  • Fried ham and egg tapa
  • Beer, don't know what kind
Dinner at Mussol (I'm told by my Spanish coworker that it was very traditional Catalan food):
  • Grilled green onion kinda things (bigger but not as big as a leek) with great sauces
  • Grilled artichokes with the same sauces
  • Red wine (don't know what kind)
  • Catalan sausage with some locally grown white beans
  • Rice pudding
I also grabbed a baguette sandwich with ham, and it had a fresh tomato puree spread on it.  Nice.
