Water and Chocolate

so pure and obvious
i could live off water and chocolate alone.
i guess i kind of am.
terrible twist: i'm out of toothpaste.

great grandmother

stories of children rolling and running on hills, a grassy, faded scene, unimaginable but i tried anyway.

the oldest person i knew, this woman had a stubbly chin and chipmunk teeth, stale breath, afghans, a small room, but once a trailer.

all i remember otherwise is a magnifying glass, and a microwave on a rolling table. we must have fed ducks.

she passed halfway through a week i spent away with a friend and his family. i found out when i got back that i missed the funeral and wake. i don't know how old i, or she, was. this was before my discovery of nonphysical pain. i cannot remember anything else.

eternity

The clock indicates the moment, but what does eternity indicate?
Eternity lies in bottomless reservoirs... its buckets are rising forever and ever,
They pour and they pour and they exhale away.

We have thus far exhausted trillions of winters and summers;
There are trillions ahead, and trillions ahead of them.

Births have brought us richness and variety,
And other births will bring us richness and variety.

I do not call one greater and one smaller,
That which fills its period and place is equal to any.

-Walt Whitman (from the first edition of Song of Myself)
I wanted to save this.

No added yeast. Just like "they" used to do.
